We're seeking a bold, results-driven Sales Executive to lead our sales and marketing strategy, expand our customer base, and grow the reach of our iconic,
award-winning wines. Based in Oliver, BC, this is a senior leadership role with the potential to evolve into General Manager.
The ideal candidate is an experienced sales leader with a deep understanding of the wine industry, exceptional people skills, and a proven ability to unite teams, drive growth, and deliver results. You'll oversee marketing, grow key partnerships, and work cross-functionally to ensure a seamless vineyard-to-glass experience.
You'll directly manage the Hospitality Manager and collaborate with our Winemaker and seasonal staff to create memorable customer experiences and build a loyal following for the Maverick brand.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Strategy:
Develop and implement a well-defined sales strategy to drive organizational growth, with a key focus on the Wine Club and customer engagement.
Build scalable processes that increase revenue and customer loyalty.
Lead pricing strategies and set realistic, data-driven sales goals.
Lead and manage the marketing strategy and execution to increase tasting room traffic, grow the Wine Club, drive sales, and cultivate strategic partnership.
Promote Maverick Estate Winery by engaging in industry organizations and initiatives to position Maverick as a premium brand, working closely with the Winemaker.
Actively participate in the wine industry to expand connections and stay informed on key trends, challenges, and strategies.
Translate strategic goals into actionable sales plans and oversee execution.
Create and manage the annual sales plan, strategies, and sales budget to effectively execute business objectives.
Enhance our brand image through targeted advertising and communication with consumers, customers (retailers, restaurants), industry partners, suppliers, and the tourism sector.
Collaborate with the CFO to forecast and develop annual sales budgets, including pricing strategies for the winery and its agents.
Apply innovative strategies to meet and exceed sales targets.
Provide agents with the support and resources needed to maximize their effectiveness.
Collaborate on promotions and strategies to leverage agent channels for increased sales.
Guide and offer feedback to internal staff and external agencies in developing materials and programs that enhance distribution and drive sell-through
Reporting and Analysis:
Analyze sales and market data to optimize strategies.
Present monthly reports on sales, budgets, and key initiatives to the CFO and Board.
Team & Operations:
Oversee the Hospitality Manager and seasonal tasting room team.
Lead, develop, and foster strong relationships within the team to encourage collaboration, creativity, problem-solving, and effective communication.
Ensure vineyard-to-glass operations deliver exceptional customer experiences.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
7+ years in sales or a related wine industry role.
Strong knowledge and passion for Canadian wine.
Proven leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Financial acumen and business-owner mindset.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and project management abilities.
Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
Valid driver's license.
Availability for occasional evenings/weekends.

Light physical activity may be required occasionally, such as lifting wine cases during events or tastings.
Work Setting:
Primarily office-based with regular travel by car and occasional air travel to attend events or visit partners.
Sensory Engagement:
A good understanding of wine tasting and sensory evaluation is important for brand alignment and customer engagement.

The role can be fast-paced and requires effective time management and adaptability to balance multiple priorities.

Pay: $70,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
