Some involving traditional, brick-and-mortar book sales strategies and some involving direct, online-only book sales strategies. They oversee all of Page Twos book sales channels, including book sales and rights sales through our partners, Macmillan, Raincoast, and Transatlantic, as well as direct to consumer sales. While also managing some backlist sales.As a goal-oriented and results-driven individual, you have a proven track record in book sales (or similar fields). You love strategizing, planning, and creative problem-solving to drive results, growth, and exceptional sales outcomes. You have a keen sense for market trends, market positioning, and have strong sales intuition. You are interested in testing new sales opportunities and acquiring new leads and can implement your vision efficiently. You are driven to enhance Page Twos profile through your work in sales.You have excellent focus and can adapt to change. You have strong organizational and prioritization skills, written and verbal communications skills, and leadership skills.You naturally enjoy fostering connections and building relationships with others both virtually and in person. And you motivate, coach, and lead individuals or teams to whom you provide clear directives, expectations, and goals.You will work collaboratively with a highly engaged team in a hybrid work environment. And you will work directly and indirectly with authors in North America and around the world, upholding Page Twos author-focused mandates.This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer.Your responsibilities will include:

  • Creating corporate sales targets and the strategy/plans for driving sales to meet or, where possible, exceed targets in sales channels including trade sales and direct sales.
  • Overseeing sales channel setup, operational performance, and quality assurance standards in Page Twos Direct Print program.
  • Creating policies, processes, recommendations that ensure sales performance, industry standards, quality assurance, and other best practices for the smooth operation and growth of Page Twos sales programs and services.
  • Effectively managing, involving, and communicating to all stakeholders (including author-clients) as needed.
  • Developing expense budgets sufficient to drive business while managing expenses and maximizing profitability.
  • Overseeing all facets of selling to accounts, including plan development, specials, advertising and promotions, inventory and returns, and directly managing key accounts.
  • With the marketing team and production team, preparing (as required) all assets to ensure successful trade presentations, trade shows, and sales meetings.
  • Managing and overseeing the activities and performance of third-party partnerships and vendors, and building new partnerships and vendor relationships, where needed, to support sales performance and operations.
  • Managing and overseeing the activities and performance of the in-house sales team, including training and coaching, job performance, objectives and deadlines, and generally managing the sales team to exceed agreed to levels.
  • Ensuring sales-related client issues are mitigated, or when needed, raised and resolved in an efficient and where possible, proactive manner.
Experience required:
  • Minimum 5 years experience in sales (or in a related field with a minimum 2 years experience in leadership), 3 years in book publishing, and preferably 2 years in leadership.

What we offer$70,000 to $85,000 per year based on experienceBenefits:
