Smithers Home Hardware is seeking a courteous and friendly individual to join our lighthearted yet hardworking team. This position includes assisting with merchandising, promotional events, and customer service. ?The ideal candidate will be willing to learn, have creative and/or merchandising abilities, good communication skills, and work well as part of a team. This person will have the ability to work a flexible schedule including Saturdays. Prior retail experience is an asset ?and Home Hardware offers competitive pay with proven experience. Duties and responsibilities may include the following:
Greeting customers and helping them at the till.
Assisting customers in locating and comparing merchandise.
Assisting customers with finding all items needed to complete their project.
Processing special orders for non-stock or out of stock items.
Maintaining current and fresh department merchandising throughout the store.
Keeping inventory on shelves neat and tidy.
Managing upcoming promotions and creating appealing displays for promotional product.
Ensuring promotional product is properly priced.
Removing sales and promotional displays, prices etc. and rearranging stock following promotional events.
Participating in regular cycle counting, and assisting in annual inventory counts.
Reordering merchandise according to the store's buying procedures.
Maintaining a given section for tidiness, accuracy and appropriate stock levels.
