Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately for transactions, including cash handling, credit card processing, and receipts. Manage stock levels by merchandising shelves effectively, restocking items, and organizing displays to maximize visual appeal. Perform cashier duties with professionalism, ensuring quick checkout processes while maintaining excellent phone etiquette when assisting over the phone. Support store operations by stocking shelves, organizing merchandise, and maintaining a clean, inviting environment. Assist in inventory management through regular stock checks and participating in periodic inventory counts. Provide outstanding customer service by listening actively, answering questions clearly, and resolving issues promptly. Participate in product demos to educate customers about new or featured items, enhancing their shopping experience. Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals through effective upselling and cross-selling techniques. Maintain knowledge of store policies, promotions, and product details to serve as a trusted resource for customers.

Qualifications

Prior experience in retail sales or grocery stores is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key! Strong communication skills with the ability to connect with diverse customers in a bilingual environment is a plus. Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and performing retail math calculations. Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures ensures smooth checkout experiences. Demonstrated ability to supervise or lead small teams is advantageous but not mandatory; leadership qualities are appreciated. Knowledge of merchandising standards and stock management techniques helps maintain an attractive sales floor. Excellent phone etiquette for engaging with customers over the phone professionally. Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, stocking shelves, and moving merchandise comfortably.
