We sell prefabricated laneway homes in Metro Vancouver. Our goal is to provide an attractive and affordable alternative in the housing market.
Position overview
As a sales associate, you will guide qualified leads through the entire laneway-home purchasing journey--from the initial zoning check to final delivery of the finished unit. Your main objective is to convert marketing-generated enquiries into completed sales while ensuring an exceptional client experience and compliance with the city's regulations.
Key Responsibilities by stages
(average total schedule: 9 months):
1. Lead Qualification & Zoning Check.-
Verify via municipal websites that the prospect's lot is appropriately zoned for a laneway home.o Archive non-eligible leads for future re-engagement should the bylaws change.
2. Discovery Call.-
Establish contact (phone, text or teleconference)o Confirm ownership status, size requirements, intended use, and budget.o Discuss price per sq ft and variable costs.o Assess client's capacity to self-finance or secure mortgage funding.
3. Site Visit
.- Measure lot dimensions and setbacks.o Identify trees, slopes, or grading issues affecting placement.o Confirm client's continued interest.
4. Preliminary Quotation
.- Prepare and present an estimated price proposalo Secure client approval and initial payment.
5. Feasibility & Permitting.-
Collect documentation, complete municipal forms, and file the change-of-address/permit packageo Track permit progress and maintain client updates

6. Construction Oversight.-
Notify the client at construction start.o Monitor factory build, on-site installation, and finishing stages.
7. Final Inspections & Handover
.- Coordinate municipal inspections, address deficiencies.o Arrange home delivery and obtain client sign-off.
Qualifications
Strong sales skills.
Previous sales experience.
Fluent in English.
Organized and responsible.
Valid Canadian work authorization
Online search abilities (cities' zoning portals)
Track leads and update their status in HubSpot
Personal vehicle for site visits across Metro Vancouver
Familiarity with residential construction or real estate development
Compensation
Salary:
$ 18 per hour. Part-time with average agreement.
Commission Rate:
2.5 % of the total contract value, payable only on amounts actually collected. Average Unit Value
:
? CAD $ 400,000. The commission will be offset by the salary paid (i.e., the salary received will be deducted from the commission earned).
