ATB Capital Markets is a wholly owned subsidiary of ATB Financial, an Alberta-based institution with offices in Toronto, Calgary, Edmonton and Denver. Together, we represent a highly specialized team of experts who provide a full suite of financial service solutions including:

• Advise on mergers and acquisitions, divestitures and private equity
• Equity capital markets, debt capital markets and financial markets
• Corporate banking, loan syndications and project finance
• Institutional sales and trading
• Institutional research to leverage industry and sector insight

As part of the Equity Sales and Trading division, you will have the opportunity to work with the top corporate and financial institutions in North America. Equity sales professionals are the link between our equity research analysts and institutional investors. Our trading professionals provide high touch trading and block formulation for our institutional clients. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to experience working in the fast paced environment of Capital Markets. Key Accountabilities:

• Become educated on the function of Canadian and U.S. equity markets, along with the intricacies of ATB sales teams and trading systems
• Client activity analysis
• Aiding with reporting for senior leaders
• Ad hoc requests & project management
• Analyzing and developing trade ideas
• Aggregating sector/market news flow
• Analyzing data to form summaries of overall changes in market positions
• 1 in-depth stock pitch to be made to the sales and trading desk

Requirements What we expect from you:

• Enrolment in a post-secondary institution in pursuit of a business or financial focused degree.
• Demonstrated excellence in academic coursework and leadership on campus.
• Strong organizational and detail-orientation skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to articulate ideas.
• High level of proficiency with computer applications, especially Google suite of tools and Excel.
• Enthusiastic, outgoing and achievement-oriented character with a great work ethic
• Accomplishes tasks with minimal direction and/or using operating guidelines independently.
• Follows instructions and defined processes for situations with some complexity and escalates more complex tasks.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to develop strong relationships with partners - people just LOVE working with you.
• Ability to work in a virtual environment independently and in collaboration with team members.
• Eagerness to roll up your sleeves, take on and seek out new challenges.
• Keen to gather information and seek answers and solutions that ensure the quality and integrity of your deliverables.
• Strong analytical ability
