ATB Capital Markets is looking for a Research Associate to support a number of activities of our Research Group. The role requires working on the Head of Research\xe2\x80\x99s Energy Technology & Services team. ATB Capital Markets\xe2\x80\x99 Research team provides thematic research on the broad trends that shape our world, as well as stock specific research in several sectors of the economy. The team assists institutional clients in meeting their investment mandates. As ATB\xe2\x80\x99s next Research Associate you are intellectually curious, motivated and passionate about how technological innovation is changing the world and the companies that are driving that change. You have integrity, are a team player, eager to learn and looking to grow in your career. This position is based out of Toronto, ON. Relocation reimbursement/assistance will not be provided. Responsibilities:

• Create and maintain company financial models and exhibits suitable for publishing and analysis.

• Perform company, industry and ESG analysis and contribute to thematic, industry and company specific reports.
• Assist in generating regular research publications including writing, editing, and final report preparation.
• Maintenance of industry data and company-specific spreadsheets.
• Conduct primary research from industry and financial sources.
• Prepare and maintain marketing presentations as required.
• Present in the daily morning meetings.
• Liaise with sales, trading and other areas of the firm within regulatory guidelines.
• Meet with management teams, industry experts and other stakeholders.

Requirements Qualifications:

• Strong accounting, financial modeling, and writing skills.
• Excellent command of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines, sometimes for extended periods.
• Ability to multi-task and manage several projects at the same time with a client-oriented focus.
• Experience working with data sets in excel using Bloomberg, Thomson, FactSet and Capital IQ.
• Comfortable meeting with management teams and presenting to executives and other stakeholders
• Experience/knowledge of ESG would be an asset.
• Programming knowledge, including web-scraping would be an asset.
• Self-motivated, hardworking and detail-oriented.

Education & Professional Accreditation:

• A university degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Mathematics, or Engineering.
• An MBA and enrollment in the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program and Fundamentals of Sustainability Accounting (FSA) Credential are definite assets.
• Securities Industries accreditation is a plus.
