Horizon Health Network (Horizon) is seeking a creative, dynamic, innovative individual to join our team as a Research Engagement Manager. The ideal candidate will five (5) years experience in either a health care or academic research environment .

Who you are

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in a health-related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience. PhD would be considered an asset.
• Five (5) years experience in either a health care or academic research environment is preferred, with at least three (3) of those years in a clinical or community setting.
• Demonstrated experience in designing, implementing, and managing the research engagement activities of research projects.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated experience in working within a multidisciplinary team and/or framework.
• Excellent knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Bilingualism would be considered an asset.

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

• Strong organizational skills, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, establish project timelines and track multiple deliverables.
• Written and spoken competence in English is required at an advanced level.

What you will do

Research Engagement Support

• Provides expert guidance for researchers and research teams interested in engaging patients as partners in research, in support of Horizon\xe2\x80\x99s commitment to patient- and family-centered care.
• Develops opportunities for dialogue and nurtures relationships with patients, stakeholders, researchers, and the community in pursuit of the Horizon\xe2\x80\x99s vision and strategic direction.
• Works with administrative leadership, clinicians, and other personnel to develop, implement and oversee patient engagement strategies for their clinical research programs.
• Collaborates with clinician researchers to prepare written abstracts, manuscripts, and funding applications in relation to patient engagement.
• Assists in identifying and planning the delivery of research training and educational opportunities for researchers, HHN staff, and patient research partners in research engagement/patient engagement.
• Works with the Maritime SPOR SUPPORT Unit to develop and refine Patient Engagement policies and procedures.

Research Communications and Knowledge Mobilization

• Manages the day-to-day communication related activities, such as postings through social media accounts, distribution of research-relevant information to Horizon\xe2\x80\x99s research community and preparing Research Service\xe2\x80\x99s monthly newsletter.
• Liaises with Horizon Health Network Communications to promote the research successes of Horizon\xe2\x80\x99s research community.
• Engages and communicates with external organizations to support collaboration between academic and clinical institutions.
• Build public understanding of research in New Brunswick by coordinating initiatives, programs, and events within Horizon Health Network regions.
• Develops, implements and is responsible for strategies to enhance recruitment of patients into Horizon\xe2\x80\x99s patient research registry, A Cure is on the Horizon.
• Updates and maintains Horizon\xe2\x80\x99s online clinical trial registry, Research Services\xe2\x80\x99 intra and external internet web pages and social media presence.
• Develops and publishes the Horizon Health Network Research Services Annual Report.
• Develops Knowledge Translation/Mobilization strategies in consultation with researchers and research teams.
