Are you passionate about outdoor adventure and dedicated to creating safe, unforgettable experiences? The Adventure Group, Whistler's leading outdoor activity provider, is looking for a proactive and detail-focused Training and Safety Manager. In this key role, you'll oversee safety standards and training programs across diverse activities--from snowmobiling and snowshoeing to ziplines, aerial obstacle courses, Vallea Lumina, side-by-sides, and rafting. If you have strong knowledge of safety regulations, a knack for team development, and the ability to collaborate across departments, this is your chance to lead safety and training in one of Canada's top adventure companies!

What You Bring to the Table



Current Occupational First Aid certification (OFA Level 1, 2, or 3 required). Additional safety credentials such as ropes access training or other industry-recognized certifications are a strong asset. Proven experience in safety management, ideally within the adventure tourism or outdoor recreation industry. In-depth knowledge of safety regulations, reporting standards, and best practices in high-adventure environments. Willingness to pursue and complete additional certifications and training as required. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust across teams. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with a knack for managing multiple priorities at once. Creative problem-solving abilities and a calm, solution-focused approach under pressure. A genuine passion for outdoor adventure activities and a commitment to fostering a safety-first culture.

Your Days Will Look Like



Prepare and submit accurate, timely safety reports in compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations, including Joint Occupational Safety and Health (JOSH) and Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) requirements. Work closely with Technical Safety BC to maintain all certifications and ensure zipline operations meet current safety standards. Develop, update, and manage Safety Plans and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for activities such as snowmobiles, snowshoeing, ziplines, AOC, Vallea Lumina, Side-by-Sides, and rafting. Lead training programs, assess and sign off on guide competencies, and oversee onboarding and retraining to keep all team members current with safety and operational standards. Support professional development through re-certifications, skill refreshers, and ongoing training initiatives that reinforce a safety-first culture. Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments across all operations, identifying improvements and implementing changes to meet industry best practices.
