Horizon Maritime Northern Services Ltd is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Safety Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe working environment by implementing safety protocols, conducting training sessions, and monitoring compliance with safety regulations. This position requires a proactive approach to identifying potential hazards and developing effective strategies to mitigate risks.

Responsibilities

Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards in the workplace. Develop and implement training programs for employees on safety practices and emergency procedures. Collaborate with management to create and update safety policies and procedures. Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions. Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, and incident reports. Assist in the fabrication of safety equipment or modifications as needed to enhance workplace safety. Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices related to occupational health and safety.

Skills

Strong knowledge of safety regulations and standards. Proven ability in training development to effectively communicate safety protocols. Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail. Ability to fabricate or modify equipment as necessary for improved safety measures. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with employees at all levels. Proficient in using safety management software and tools for reporting and documentation.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $28.77-$34.48 per hour
