Otter Co-op is now hiring a Safety and Asset Protection Coordinator for our Otter Co-op and Angry Otter locations across the Thompson Okanagan region.

What you\'ll do:

Reporting to the Director of Facilities, Safety and Asset Protection, responsibilities for this position include the following:

  • Champion all internal programs and minimize risk opportunities at sites.
  • Perform safety inspections and retail risk audits including inspecting dispensers, sumps and turbines at Gas Bars.
  • Support sites with safety and asset protection incidences including burning footage for police and local law enforcement as requested.
  • Coordinate training pertaining to People, Property, Product and Environment.
  • Complete detailed recaps when visiting sites. Share learnings with site managers, area managers and senior management. Follow up on any action items.
  • Conduct investigation pertaining to health and safety, theft and property.
  • Support sites with CCTV, Alarms, EAS and any other tools used to minimize risk to property.
  • Liaison with local law enforcement and health and safety regulatory authorities to ensure compliance standards are upheld.
  • Support with after hour calls.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Who you are:

You are looking for a career in retail risk, safety, and asset protection as well as:
  • High school diploma required.
  • Post-secondary education an asset including recent experience in occupational health and safety.
  • Have general knowledge in loss prevention and/or asset protection practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external guests in a polite and engaging manner.
  • Proactive, with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Excellent computer proficiency with enhanced knowledge of MS Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Looking for employment where you can build a successful career.
  • Must be committed to a SAFE working environment.
  • Ability and flexibility to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends is required.
  • Able to perform physical job duties including lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs.
  • Valid Driver\xe2\x80\x99s License is required, as this position requires travel within a defined area as well as travel to other locations throughout BC as required. Travel may be for site visits, inspections, audits, meetings, conferences, as well as to assist in alternate locations as required.
