Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Safety Specialist to join our team. This is a full-time on-site role for a Safety Advisor at Weston Construction Alberta in Edmonton, AB. This is a Junior Position for someone that is looking for experience on a large civil project with a high profile and large footprint. This position requires a strong understanding of risk management, occupational health, and safety regulations, particularly within the construction industry. The Safety Specialist will work closely with various teams to promote a culture of safety and compliance across all operations.

Duties

Ensuring Compliance with safety regulations. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety policies. Provide training and guidance to employees on safety practices, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and emergency response procedures. Analyze incidents and accidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions. On site presence, collaborating with the management team and onsite staff OIS follow-up appointments and visits Aid with pre-access testing and post incident testing

Requirements

OHS Graduate or NCSO (Minimum) Willing to learn Able to provide coverage over varied hours during the day Able to get to the job site Able to pass a Pre-access Drug and Alcohol Screening Class 5 driver license at a minimum Strong background in construction site experience with an understanding of construction management processes. Excellent communication skills with the ability to train staff on safety procedures effectively. Certification in safety management or related fields is preferred but not mandatory.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
