Job Function:
Primary function is to provide relief coverage on any Western Canada Field Sales route as needed. This includes travel to any location (Urban or Rural) in Western Canada, training on route with assigned operator, then performing all aspects of route operation.

Areas of Responsibility:
A Route Relief Operator\'s duties will include but are not limited to:

• Travel
• Adherence to all company policies and the understanding that working Safely is a condition of employment.
• Receiving product at depot level, break down bulk product into individual customer orders, and load into the company provided truck.
• The safe operation of a 3 -5 ton cube van in all areas - rural, urban and highway settings- in all weather conditions
• Use a provided electronic logging program for recording hours of service
• Maintain a regular schedule in the delivery of product to customers
• Have contact with store or bakery managers
• Ordering of regular and feature items as pre-determined with the route operator
• Stock and rotate product on store shelves and displays, merchandising to plan standard
• Set up displays and promotional materials such as pricing signs and banners
• The daily use of a handheld computer and printer
• When required, collect and deposit customer cash and cheques following the proper process of recording of all cash transactions.
• Complete fully and accurately all necessary paperwork
• Follow direction of the Market Sales Leader, Regional Sales Leader and Sales Supervisor
• Other duties as assigned

• Must be able to travel and be away from home for periods up to 3 weeks
• Clean, professional appearance

• Confident, organized, and self-motivated
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Comfortable with technology and have basic computer skills
• Easily able to interact with others and openly communicate with account managers
• Show pride in salesmanship by recognizing the strength of our brands
• Physically fit and able to perform frequent lifting, bending, twisting, kneeling, squatting
• Able to push or pull up to 150 lbs with assistance
• Able to work early mornings (3-4 am), weekends, stat holidays and overtime as required.

Additional Requirements:

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Have a High School Diploma or equivalent GED
• Always wear CSA approved footwear
• Have a mobile phone which can be used for business calls
• Have a valid class 5 driver\'s license (recent drivers abstract must be provided)
