Since 1978 Air Inuit has been providing scheduled, charter, cargo, and emergency air transportation services in Nunavik and beyond, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Collectively owned by the Inuit of Nunavik, through the Makivvik Corporation, the airline operates a fleet of over 35 aircraft ranging from a De Havilland Twin Otter 300 Series to a Boeing 737 200, 300 and 800 and employs over 1000 employees in one of the most challenging flight environments.

ROLE OVERVIEW
Management of the repair and overhaul of rotatable parts
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements in component repair operations
Negotiate on behalf of the organization and maintain good relationships with vendors
Communicate with the different stakeholders as required. (Stores team, Production team, QC team and finance team)
Develop process to eliminate components with repetitive removal history
Evaluate the work scope required following removal of unserviceable parts from the aircraft;
Ensure that repair orders include details of the defect, the work scope requested and any other relevant information pertaining to the component;
Perform recertification and inspection of parts repaired in house as required;
Monitor and update database on shop cost center task cards when work is complete;
Request warranty repairs when applicable and verify that quotes made by repair stations are consistent with the defect reported prior to approval;
Must keep track of all outstanding repair orders;
Must notify the VP Maintenance of any extra maintenance cost, prolonged turnaround times, etc;
Must notify the Quality Assurance Director / Manager for any Airworthiness Issues;
Assist with AOG service as required;
Manage loans and exchanges of rotable parts
Other projects as assigned by the VP Maintenance.
WHAT WILL MAKE YOU AN IDEAL CANDIDATE
Must hold a valid M1 and or M2 license or equivalent with minimum 5 years experience
Familiarity with certification and related Airworthiness requirements for aviation category materials considered an asset;
To work cooperatively as a primary contributor in a team setting;
Strong negotiation skills, understanding of the commercial aspect of issues
Ability to resolve outsourcing and vendor management issues
Ability to show initiative, innovation and a good sense of organization;
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
Bilingual is an asset
COMPENSATION
Salary and benefits are determined in accordance with the corporate policy.
Yearly salary: $112,530 - 162,657

Work week of 37.5 hours
