FULL-TIME ROADS OPERATOR

The Township of North Huron is seeking a Permanent full-time employee to assist with the operations of the Public Works Department.

The Roads Operator is responsible for performing a variety of public works related tasks in both rural and urban settings within the Township of North Huron. Typical duties include but are not limited to repair and maintenance of municipal roads, sidewalks, parking lots, culverts, storm and sanitary sewer systems, water collection systems, and other designated Municipal infrastructure within the Township of North Huron.

Qualifications:

Working knowledge of Ontario Health & Safety Act; Experience in construction practices; Excellent physical condition with ability to handle the repetitive physical demands associated with the operation of heavy machinery; Experience in vehicle and heavy equipment maintenance techniques; Valid class D driver's license with Z endorsement; Ability to operate snow plow, road grader, other heavy equipment, power tools and hand tools; Availability for afterhours work and to be placed on the on-call rotation.
