Role:
This role is responsible for analyzing and identifying risks and opportunities in the revenue and margins for various core financial processes for Sysco Canada. The Profit Risk Analyst responsibilities include performing end-to-end business process reviews, identifying gaps, summarizing risks and opportunities to improve profitability, and preparing financial models to support the Finance leadership team in the decision-making process.

Role Responsibilities:

• Act as a Revenue & Margin Consultant with Finance leadership team
• Perform end-to-end review of business processes within organization
• Analyze economic and financial data to help develop and identify improvement opportunities that could impact profitability within the different areas
• Documenting current workflows and preparing working papers to support the review process
• Summarize, present, and discuss opportunities with Finance leadership team
• Support Finance leadership team with risk assessment models that could benefit the decision-making process
• Identify gaps and bring them to the attention of the different process owners
• Assist BT with implementing solutions or developing potential tools (automation, reporting, etc.)
• Review different Financial KPI’s and make recommendations to achieve targets
• Liaise with Global Support Centre and International offices to align and share best practices
• Responsible for compliance with all Policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) comprising Sysco’s Food Safety Program, specific for the assigned role.
• Assist Food Safety Program Manager in ensuring compliance to Sysco’s Food Safety Program that leads to compliance with third party certification and customer requirements.
• Is willing to work safely with minimal environmental impact and understands the importance of reporting all hazards, incidents, and environmental spills immediately to their Supervisor.
• Understands that they play an integral role in their own safety and that of their colleagues and is willing to speak out when hazards are present.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Skills/Job Requirements:

• 5+ years in an analyst/audit role
• Previous Distribution/Supply Chain experience an asset
• College Diploma in Business Administration or related field is required
• University Degree is preferred
• Professional Accounting Designation preferred
• Exceptional knowledge of profit margin components and the factors affecting profitability
• Strong data collection and analytical thinking skills
• Excellent organizational skills
• Detail-orientation
• Outstanding communication skills
• Good business administration skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication skills in dealing with colleagues, the management team, and external partners
• Knowledge of SQL queries, business risk analysis/auditing experience
• Effective time management skills
• Ability to build strong client and business relationships
• Knowledge of AS/400 & COGNOS 10 will be an asset
