Job Title Risk Advisor




































What is the opportunity? The Risk Advisor position acts as a key advisor to all areas of the Tech Infrastructure (TI) area with respect to operation and organizational risk. As a key area of responsibility at RBC, Risk Advisors interact with all levels of the organization to ensure consistent and effective risk planning. What will you do?

• Drives strategic alignment of the group\xe2\x80\x99s services to overarching TI Risk Management strategies
• Creates and assesses effectiveness of risk awareness training for all levels of staff in TI
• Drives the development and ongoing maintenance of proactive and effective controls in the TI environments to mitigate risks to an acceptable level, ensuring solutions are designed to meet the requirements of the sponsoring business unit
• Drives quantitative risk assessment reviews using TI Risk Management methodologies and tools
• Provides expertise, feedback, and mentoring to build the capability of more junior staff

What do you need to succeed? Must Have

• Five or more years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in all of the broad range of core services in Information Security/Risk Management in a Technology Operations environment
• Wide ranging technical knowledge of RBC\xe2\x80\x99s hardware and software systems, in order to be able to make Risk Management decisions in context
• Ability to develop a blend of technical, people and process risk mitigating controls using an RBC approved and industry recognized framework to an expert and complex level
• In partnership with senior leaders, ability to articulate controls to internal and external auditors, including regulators, on a wide range of areas, often outside of the TI Risk Management framework.
• Industry recognized qualifications / certifications in Information Security and/or Risk Management (CISM/CISSP/CISA/CRISC) commensurate to the role and services

• Experience in Financial Services organization
• Understanding of Cloud computing

Job Summary Manages the day-to-day operations and effectiveness of security-related programs and initiatives; assesses the costs associated with potential threats and solutions required to eliminate or minimize threats. Applies experience and seasoned knowledge, skills, and practices to perform a variety of assignments.
