Duties
Assist in managing daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures
Support sales team with product demonstrations and upselling techniques to maximize revenue
Maintain merchandising standards, ensuring products are well-presented and organized
Set up and organize flyer sales, ensuring adequate stock for sales, setting up dump bins, etc.
Recreate the merchandise presentation as illustrated in the planogram designs.
Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction
Conduct product demos to educate customers about features and benefits of various technology products
Support cashiering duties, including processing payments and handling returns or exchanges
Assist in training new staff members on sales techniques, POS usage, and customer service protocols
Implement effective time management strategies to ensure smooth store operations during shifts
Attend store meetings, training sessions, etc. as required.
Work on additional duties, special projects and assignments as assigned by an Assistant Manager, Store Manager or General Manager.
Work in a safe manner in accordance with provincial and federal safety legislation. Report any potential hazards or unsafe behavior to management in order to have the situation corrected.
Qualifications
Proven experience in retail sales, with a strong understanding of merchandising, cashiering, and POS systems
Excellent communication skills;
Demonstrated ability to perform product demos and technical sales of technology products
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
Basic math skills for cash handling and sales transactions
Exceptional customer service skills with professionalism in phone etiquette and interpersonal interactions
Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
Experience in upselling and promotional activities to enhance sales performance
Time management skills necessary to prioritize tasks efficiently throughout shifts
Must be able to safely operate equipment required for efficient yard operations, including a lumber cart, forklift, pallet jack, order picker, banding machine, ladder, radial arm saw, etc
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to move materials weighing up to 100 pounds around the Store, yard, placing them on or removing them from trucks, pallets, etc.
