Retail Marketing & Store Experience Coordinator
The Retail Marketing & Merchandising Coordinator is a creative and detail-oriented individual responsible for designing and executing engaging in-store experiences, product displays, and promotions that align with the Mission's brand and purpose. This role helps manage store volunteers, supports marketing initiatives (both in-store and online), and ensures that every customer receives an exceptional experience.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing & Promotions
Plan, coordinate, and execute seasonal and special promotions that drive store traffic and sales.
Create engaging social media content (photos, videos, posts) that showcases store products, volunteer highlights, and events.
Collaborate with leadership to promote store events and campaigns across multiple channels.
Visual Merchandising
Design and maintain attractive window displays, product layouts, and themed sections that reflect the season and current campaigns.
Monitor and refresh store displays regularly to keep the shopping experience dynamic and inviting.
Train and guide volunteers in merchandising best practices to maintain store standards.
Customer & Volunteer Experience
Ensure the store atmosphere is welcoming and aligned with the Mission's values.
Support volunteers by providing clear direction, training, and encouragement.
Gather and respond to customer feedback to continuously improve the shopping experience.
Operations & Technology
Support day-to-day retail operations, including opening/closing duties as needed.
Utilize
Lightspeed POS
for sales transactions, reporting, and inventory tracking.
Assist in monitoring sales data to evaluate promotions and merchandising effectiveness.
Qualifications & Skills
2+ years of experience in retail marketing, visual merchandising, or store promotions (thrift or boutique experience is a plus).
Proficiency in social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook) and basic content creation tools (Canva or similar).
Be fluent with Microsoft Word and Excel as well as Google Sheets and Docs
Experience with
Lightspeed POS
preferred.
Strong visual design sense with the ability to create attractive, on-brand displays.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong interpersonal skills to work with staff, volunteers, and customers.
Passion for community impact and alignment with the mission and values of the organization.
Work Environment
Customer-facing retail environment.
Requires some lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Occasional evenings or weekends for special events or seasonal promotions.
Hourly Rate
$22.75 - $25.50 per hour, pending level of experience
