The opportunity

This role supports Heart & Stroke\xe2\x80\x99s mission to advance and enhance emergency cardiovascular care and first aid training and education throughout Canada.

Working from their home-based office in Nova Scotia, PEI or Newfoundland and Labrador (preference will be given to Halifax and area), the Resuscitation Program Manager (RPM) plays a critical role in advancing our relationships and deepening our engagement with a diverse network of instructors, training providers, customers and corporate accounts. They do this by helping us \xe2\x80\x9cOwn the Market\xe2\x80\x9d \xe2\x80\x93 meaning we are both seen as the leader and de facto choice for employers and healthcare providers across the country who are seeking to advance their cardiovascular emergency response programs and acquiring best-in-class training from our network of high-performance accredited instructors.

The Resuscitation Program Manager grows and supports our network of stakeholders (instructors, training providers) and identifies opportunities to advance our programs within the region. They lead engagement with our network and aim to elevate our brand, our programs and the delivery of high quality education in their region through the development and management of our programs, solutions and services. The RPM acts as a credible ambassador and representative of Heart & Stroke, by consistently demonstrating our values.

The RPM upholds our Guidelines by enforcing compliance with our policies and standards and are called on to represent Heart & Stroke at provincial meetings, events, conferences and other activities.

How you will make an impact every day

Knowing our customer and instructor network

  • Develops a strong understanding of our customers and instructor networks and nurtures strong relationships with key stakeholders and constituents.
  • Engages directly and regularly with top performers in our network in their region and across disciplines and market segments.
  • Tracks and develops performance plans to address the poorest performers in their region, across disciplines and market segments.
  • Deepens our understanding of our constituents through effective investigation & documentation.
  • Assesses client/constituent needs and our ability to meet those needs.
  • Using Salesforce CRM, maintains a system for tracking Entrepreneurs, training centres and independent instructors.
Knowing our Programs
  • Understands the importance and role of our programs and courses in the marketplace.
  • Develops a strong familiarity with our programs and courses through direct experience.
  • Describes, in detail, the value proposition of our programs and courses to potential clients.
  • Differentiates our offerings from those of competitors.
  • Communicates our value proposition and the benefits of our programs to a variety of audiences.
  • Contributes to the development and/or implementation of marketing strategies that specifically promote resuscitation and first aid programs.
  • Utilizes Resuscitation portal and Salesforce system to evaluate and monitor performance and uses Salesforce to manage interactions.
Understanding the needs of the network, cultivating relationships and nurturing high performers and advisors
  • Assembles a group of the most trusted individuals in our network to compile and assimilate their insights, advice and guidance.
  • Develop and nurtures relationships with key customer accounts and partners to grow our market share.
  • Develops and maintains a provincial network with relevant institutions and professional organizations.
  • Keeps up with the latest industry developments, including direct market competitors.
  • Understands and is familiar with the offerings of our competitors in each product line.
  • Identifies opportunities in target markets for our products and services.
  • Prepares status reports on goals and performance.
  • Develops strategies, tactics, services and solutions and implements plans to expand national channel-partner (training centre) network, tracks progress.
  • Identifies, stewards and advances relationships with the highest performing channel-partners (training centres) and leverages those approaches into solutions to nurture other partners to excellence.
Upholding policies and standards
  • Effectively and consistently resolves QA infractions with focus on risk mitigation, positive outcomes and demonstrates strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Deactivates instructors who are not adhering H&S criteria/licensing agreements.
  • Activates a remediation-based, solution-oriented approach to retaining and improving the performance of our instructor network.
  • Navigates complex issues to support partners in each segment of our network.
  • Shows a bias for action and a sense of urgency to resolve matters and identify solutions.
What you bring

Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in business, health science or a related field
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
  • Certificate/training in adult education preferred
Experience
  • Minimum of 3-5 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in a sales, small business or business development role, preferably in the first aid / CPR training marketplace
  • Heart & Stroke Instructor certification and/or other agency instructional experience an asset
  • Experience in marketing and communication would be an asset
  • Knowledge of provincial healthcare systems and resuscitation training agencies an asset
  • Experience working in the health care field would be an asset

  • Flexible/adaptable, able to work in a fast paced, ever-changing environment; able to effectively manage a demanding schedule and prioritize responsibilities.
  • Proficient with remote technology, online and social platforms.
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology and life support equipment, an asset.
  • French/English bilingual an asset
  • Volunteer management and supervision skills an asset
