Our client is a highly regarded, independently owned bistro-style restaurant located in the Fraser Valley. Known for its refined yet approachable cuisine, creative beverage program, and genuine connection to the local community, this 110-seat restaurant has built a strong reputation as a destination for quality, consistency, and warm hospitality. Blending modern culinary craftsmanship with a welcoming neighbourhood feel, the business is entering its next phase of growth and evolution. To support this momentum, they are seeking an experienced and people-focused Restaurant General Manager to lead the operation day-to-day and help shape what comes next. This is a hands-on leadership role for a hospitality professional who thrives in owner-operated environments and values both operational excellence and guest experience. The General Manager will be responsible for the overall performance of the restaurant, leading the team, maintaining high service standards, and ensuring the culture remains rooted in hospitality, care, and community connection. $70,000 to $75,000 base salary plus substantial incentives.

Description

  • Lead all aspects of restaurant operations with a hands-on, people-first approach
  • Maintain strong financial oversight, including labour planning, cost controls, and seasonal forecasting
  • Ensure operational readiness for high-volume periods while using slower months to strengthen systems, training, and processes
  • Recruit, train, and develop a service-driven management and hourly team
  • Actively identify opportunities to improve guest experience, efficiency, and consistency
  • Collaborate closely with ownership and culinary leadership on strategy, standards, and execution
  • Foster a positive, accountable culture grounded in professionalism and genuine hospitality
Requirements
  • Has proven experience as a Restaurant General Manager or senior hospitality leader in a full-service, quality-driven environment
  • Brings strong leadership skills with a calm, confident, and people-first approach
  • Understands both the operational and emotional sides of hospitality
  • Is financially literate, with experience managing labour, costs, and performance metrics
  • Thrives in independent restaurants where autonomy, trust, and collaboration are key
  • Has a genuine passion for food, beverage, service, and community
