RESPITE WORKER AD

My name is Kelsey Culbert. I am a young adult with cerebral palsy, who currently lives at home with my family. I am open to new experiences and am very active in the community. I enjoy going to Pat games, shopping, ringside wrestling, and doing activities like baking and cooking. I am goal-oriented, can communicate effectively, and am apart of various organizations and groups. I will require assistance with cognitive and some physical support. I will direct my physical needs; some personal care may be required for this position. Must be communicative with your schedule and open to my interests and goals. Must have experience working with disabilities. The position may include (but is not limited to):

RESPONSIBILITIES:

? Assistance with managing goals and personal growth
? Assistance with completing daily tasks, budgeting, problem solving, and decision making
? Assisting with organization skills, menu planning, and cooking
? Communicate with me to understand my wants and needs
? Share and/or suggest options for community support and engagement
? Complete all required paperwork and support time duties
? Accompany me while attending community events and commitments as required
? Person-first attitude

REQUIREMENTS:

?Valid Driver's license
? Experience with working with disabilities is required; preference will be given to those who have social work experience through study or lived-experience, understand anti-oppressive practices, and is person-centered.

? TLR training is an asset but not required; open to obtaining training.

? First Aid/CPR - Asset, but not required
? Criminal Record Check and vulnerable sector check within 3 days of interview

HOURS OF WORK:

? Part Time: Monday - Friday. Looking for day shifts and evenings specifically and some weekends may be needed
? Scheduling is meant to be collaborative, and shifts may vary
? 13 hours per week, example: 3hrs x 4days/week

PAY:

? $18/Hour
? Monthly
? I will submit invoices to Cognitive Disability Strategy

Contract Length:

. Contract will be re-evaluated on a yearly basis.
