Your Opportunity:

The Kipnes Urology Clinic located on the 7th floor of the Kaye Edmonton Clinic (KEC), has a vision to provide state of the art urology care in an academic and research environment. We are seeking an experienced, innovative and motivated Respiratory Therapist who enjoys working in a fast-paced, team environment and who wants to provide exceptional care to our patients. The Respiratory Therapist also serves as support to the following clinics in the Kaye Edmonton Clinic: Family Medicine Clinic, Seniors Clinic, Surgical Clinics including burns, Ortho/plaster room, Neurosciences clinics and medicine clinics. Physical demands and requirements include: prolonged, extensive and/or considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling and crouching.

Description:

As a Respiratory Therapist II, you will coordinate, monitor and assess clinical services in your assigned area. You will act as a clinical resource for daily operations, coordinating the work of therapy assessment and treatment in your service area, and assist in the development of clinical protocols. You will develop and implement respiratory therapy care plans and monitor the progress of patients (clients, residents) receiving advanced respiratory treatment. You will identify new equipment requirements, and establish and maintain adequate levels of supplies and materials for your area. You will be responsible for respiratory equipment, including but not limited to operation, procurement, maintenance, and quality assurance. You will participate in interprofessional patient, client or resident rounds, conferences and meetings where applicable.

Required Qualifications:

Active or eligible registration with the College and Association of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CARTA). Additional Required Qualifications:

Graduate from an accredited school of Respiratory Therapy. Basic Cardiac Life support (BLS). Minimum 5-year critical care RRT experience in a tertiary care teaching hospital. ACLS. Must be able to push, pull greater than 50 lbs. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum 2 years Adult Operating Room Anesthesia experience.
