Position Overview:



The Resource Planner supports the Projects Department by assisting in the coordination, tracking, and communication of daily project progress, manpower, and schedule updates across active jobs. This role is vital to ensuring that information from the field, fabrication shop, and project office is accurately captured and relayed to the Planning Manager, Project Manager, and Controls team. The incumbent assists with developing execution plans, maintaining schedules, and supporting reporting processes that promote accurate forecasting and proactive decision-making within Tyrod's operational framework.

Responsibilities



Project Coordination & Reporting

Track daily manpower and schedule updates across upcoming and active projects. Relay field and shop updates to the Planning Manager, Project Manager, and Controls team for accurate reporting and forecasting. Attend project meetings, capturing and distributing key action items. Prepare and maintain daily and weekly progress summaries for management review.
Planning & Scheduling Support

Assist in developing and maintaining construction work packages, and short-term lookaheads. Work with Project Managers and the Planning Manager to align manpower forecasts and scheduling with execution priorities. Identify and flag potential schedule or manpower issues early to prevent delays.
Team Collaboration

Coordinate closely with the Planning Manager for direction, priorities, and daily/weekly progress updates. Collaborate with Project Coordinators and Project Managers to ensure consistency in tracking, document control, and communication. Support onboarding and coordination of new hires or subcontractors as project requirements evolve.
Continuous Improvement

Contribute to the ongoing improvement of planning tools, templates, and resource tracking systems. Participate in lessons-learned and project closeout sessions to enhance future planning processes.

Qualifications & Competencies



Education & Experience

Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, or related discipline preferred. 1-2 years of experience in project coordination, planning, or scheduling within an industrial fabrication or construction setting. Experience with project management software (e.g., Aimsio, Primavera, and SharePoint) considered an asset.
Knowledge & Competencies

Project Scheduling Knowledge: Strong understanding of project lifecycle phases and field/shop interfaces. Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in daily work and reporting. Organization & Time Management: Proven ability to organize, support and report on multiple concurrent projects. Analytical Thinking: Demonstrated capability in tracking progress and resources, identifying discrepancies and recommending corrective actions Communication: Professional and clear written and verbal communication. Working Conditions



Standard schedule: Monday to Friday (40 hours per week) Combination of office, fabrication shop. Occasional overtime or travel to project sites may be required based on project needs
