About the job

In this role, you will:
provide leadership and guidance to district staff and management through the consistent application of ministry legislation, policies, procedures, workflow and resolution of problems with a focus on providing Public Lands Act advice and the administration of procurement processes related to capital infrastructure projects
liaise, coordinate and consult with internal staff and external partners or clients to manage and provide advice on approvals and processes, resource management issues and/or initiatives
provide strategic project management, communication, coordination, support and advice to anticipate and address MNR-related key initiatives
identify emerging trends, recommend and implement communication techniques/strategies to address work with clients, stakeholders and internal counterparts, and to implement and achieve ministry priorities
build and maintain strong relationships with Indigenous communities by engaging in meaningful consultation, supporting collaborative initiatives, and ensuring that Indigenous perspectives are considered in land and resource management decisions
What you bring to the team

Technical expertise:
knowledge of, and the ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation and regulations (e.g. Public Lands Act, Environmental Assessment Act, Lakes and Rivers Improvement Act, Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act, Aggregate Resources Act, Crown Forest Sustainability Act)
knowledge of the theories, principles and practices of natural resource planning and management to lead project initiatives; and to provide expert advice both internally and externally
