Position Summary

We are seeking a proactive, accountable, and results-driven Property Manager to oversee a portfolio of residential apartment buildings. This role requires an ownership mindset, with a focus on maximizing occupancy, ensuring building upkeep, and managing day-to-day tenant relations.

Key Responsibilities

Full Portfolio Ownership: Take complete responsibility for the performance of assigned buildings, including occupancy rates, arrears collections, maintenance coordination, and tenant satisfaction. Leasing & Tenant Relations: Oversee leasing agents, ensure ads and listings are active and effective, approve tenant applications, and handle escalated tenant concerns. Maintenance Oversight: Coordinate with maintenance managers, live-in superintendents, and external contractors to ensure timely repairs, preventative maintenance, and capital projects. Financial Performance: Manage building budgets, control expenses, track arrears, and monitor financial performance metrics aligned with company targets. Operational Execution: Ensure move-ins, move-outs, inspections, and lease renewals are executed with precision. Resolve issues decisively and avoid bureaucratic delays. Team Leadership: Lead and hold accountable the site coordinators, leasing agents, and building staff under your portfolio. Professional Representation: Act as the face of Templeton Properties to tenants, contractors, and the community with professionalism in conduct, appearance, and communication.
Qualifications & Skills

Minimum 5 years of experience in property management or a related field. Strong operational and leadership skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage teams and multiple buildings. Decisive and action-oriented--able to identify problems and execute solutions quickly. Proficient in property management software (e.g., Buildium, Yardi, or similar). Strong knowledge of Nova Scotia tenancy laws and building operations. Excellent communication, organizational, and conflict-resolution skills. A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.

Pay: $55,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
