Providence Health Care is hiring a Resident Care Manager for one of our long-term care facilities at Mount Saint Joseph Hospital, a 60-resident home.

In this role, you will:
Provide leadership and supervision to interdisciplinary staff, including Clinical Nurse Leaders and Unit Supervisors
Collaborate with a Physician Leader to ensure effective and efficient care delivery
Promote integrated care across the continuum, working with internal teams and external partners
Drive quality improvement, staff development, and resource optimization strategies
Contribute to strategic planning and operational alignment within the Program-Based Care Model

Qualifications
Master's degree in a related health profession
Minimum of five (5) years of experience at the middle management level in a medium to large health care organization
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

What We Offer:
Mount Saint Joseph Hospital (MSJ) is a long-term care facility that is part of a network of six long-term care homes and one assisted living residence operated by Providence across the Lower Mainland. These homes provide 24-hour nursing care, along with medical and personal support to meet the social, recreational, and daily living needs of seniors. Staff work 8-hour shifts to ensure consistent, compassionate care.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Provide leadership and guidance to interdisciplinary team members, including Clinical Nurse Leaders (CNLs), Unit Supervisors, and other nursing leaders, to ensure resident- and family-centered care is delivered within a coordinated care model.
Collaborate with the Physician Operations Leader to manage and plan efficient care delivery aligned with PHC's mission, vision, and strategic goals.
Lead or support quality improvement and risk management initiatives by engaging staff in problem-solving, implementing standards, and analyzing data and variances.
Partner with internal and community stakeholders to ensure timely care, effective discharge planning, and management of complaints, risks, and incidents.
Maintain clear and consistent two-way communication within the team to ensure understanding of organizational updates and their impact on care delivery.
Serve as the liaison between care units and corporate/support services to address frontline needs and identify operational solutions.
Collaborate with physician partners on operating and capital budget development, monitor productivity and variances, and manage timekeeping and overtime approvals.
Work with Human Resources to develop and implement staff recruitment and retention strategies aligned with clinical program goals.
Support staff development through onboarding, clinical orientation, and education in accordance with hospital standards and procedures.
Plan, implement, and evaluate staffing schedules and vacation rotations to ensure adequate coverage and meet resident care needs.
Participate in organizational leadership activities such as labor relations, collective bargaining preparation, strike contingency planning, and 24-hour managerial call duties.
Promote a culture of continuous learning, team development, and service improvement within interdisciplinary teams.
In collaboration with Practice Leaders and Advanced Practice Nurses:
+ Ensure care practices meet clinical and corporate standards.
+ Determine appropriate staffing mix and performance expectations; provide coaching and support.
+ Conduct joint performance appraisals and support student fieldwork opportunities, including onboarding and feedback.
+ Foster evidence-based practice and ongoing professional development. Perform other related duties as assigned.
