Position Title: Residence Supervisor Supervisor: Manager, Residential Services Residence: Mental Health Transitional Treatment Residence Wage: $32/hour paid biweekly

Purpose
The Residence Supervisor, under the direction of the Manager, Residential Services, oversees the coordination and consultation of residence planning activities and leads the active participation in resident case management for CRDG.
The Residence Supervisor works closely with Health & Social Services (HSS) Case Managers from Mental Wellness & Substance Use Services (MWSUS) and other community agencies and resources in the provision and coordination of these services to enable clients to live as independently as possible in the community.
The Residence Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Transitional Treatment Residence and is responsible for the health, safety, and well-being of all residents and staff.
Task Related Skills & Duties
The Residence Supervisor manages the structured residential setting that encourages the achievement of resident programming outcomes by:

  • Coordinating and participating in case management, consultation, and residence planning activities;
  • With the permission of clients, consulting with relevant caregivers and significant others in clients\' lives in order to update, modify, or reassess treatment plans and intervention strategies;
  • Compiling information for intake from case managers, residential coordinators, family members, MWSUS, the Yukon Review Board (YRB) and other documentation such as psychological reports, and other contribute to management level reporting requirements etc.;
  • Coordinating of the evaluation of resident(s) treatment plans and treatment progress;
  • Overseeing and assisting with the planning and implementation of program enhancements
  • In collaboration with Manager, Residential Services, developing reports and residential summaries for the Yukon Review Board, and MWSUS;
  • Maintaining positive relationships with other service providers, including but not limited to social workers, clinicians, other medical staff, corrections officers, and the RCMP;
  • Working in conjunction with the Manager, Residential Services and MWSUS Case Managers, to schedule and assign staff to specific clients, monitoring staff progress, reviewing their work and assisting with resolving problems;
  • Communicating effectively and use a professional approach with all team members, managers, supervisors, clients, and stakeholders;
  • Attending YRB hearings and other meetings when required.
  • Continuous monitoring of residence operations and identify areas requiring improvement;
  • Recruitment, training and performance management of staff working within the residence;
  • Scheduling staff and compiling payroll reports;
  • Documenting the daily activities of the team and submit detailed reports on a regular basis;
  • Scheduling, conducting, and attending regular team meetings;

The Residence Supervisor ensures efficient day-to-day operations of the residence, and oversight for the health, safety, and well-being of all residents and staff by:
  • Respecting and protect the rights of clients, including but not limited to their right to independence, autonomy, and self-determination; their right to choose and practice individual values, beliefs, religion, and culture; their right to privacy and dignity; and their right to live free from retaliation, discrimination, and abuse;
  • Understand and use correct reporting procedures for serious or unusual incidents, including but not limited to client injury or illness, incidents of aggression, or injury involving employees;
  • Ensuring that residence team members adhere to all personal hygiene and safety procedures and guidelines; and ensuring that all staff under your direction are equipped with and use the proper personal protective equipment, and that that safe work practices are followed;
  • Ensuring that all employees comply with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards
  • Determining necessary staffing requirements and oversee the hiring of staff;
  • Identifying and pursuing professional development opportunities, and maintaining current credentials as required for employment.
  • Coordinating the maintenance of buildings by working with Yukon Housing and other landlords to ensure issues are addressed in a timely manner;
  • Managing the administration and oversight of residence expenses through the timely submission for invoices payment, tracking of resident expenses and advising Manager, Residential Services of emerging needs and items for budgeting purposes.
Position Outcomes The working relationships inherent to the success of the job include on-going collaboration, coordination and communication with the Manager, Residential Services and MWSUS Case Managers, and the staff that report to this position. This position will also engage in professional relationships with psychologists, doctors, members of the Yukon Review Board, local law enforcement officers and other informal and formal supports relevant to the residents.

  • Safety precautions due to proximity with hazardous materials and/or contagious diseases
