Job Description

Luther College High School invites applications for part-time Residence Assistant positions in the Girls' Dorm for the 2025 - 2026 school year beginning late August 2025 until June 30, 2026. Reporting to the Residence Manager - Women and the Residence Manager - Men, the Residence Assistants play a key role in the supervision of minor dormitory students and the community life of the dorms.

Responsibilities

Work a standard number of shifts including one evening per week (Monday to Thursday), one weekend per month, and up to two long weekends in the school year. Responsible for the general welfare and whereabouts of dormitory students. Respond to emergency situations. Perform all required tasks during the shift as outlined in the Residence Assistant Handbook. Planning and participation of dorm activities with students, and supervision of those activities (ex. gymnasium usage). Develop a good rapport with students to support the social, academic, and personal adjustment of students to dorm life and school. Serve as a positive role model to residence students. Administer prescription and over-the-counter medications and chart accurately. Enforce dormitory and school rules. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Completion of Grade 12; Applicable experience working with students and/or youth; Previous experience working in a residence environment would be considered an asset; Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks; Sound interpersonal skills; As this position is working with minor students, a criminal record check will be required.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is $21,329.28.
