Your Opportunity: This position will work in close collaboration with Women and Children\xe2\x80\x99s Health Research Institute (WCHRI) and the Canadian VIGOUR Centre (CVC) at the University of Alberta to lead perinatal health research in Alberta including support of a large national inititiative called the Canadian Mother-Child Cohort (CAMCCO) ; working closely with WCHRI members to answer research questions related to maternal-child health using primarily administrative data sources available within AHS. This position will use their expert programming skills (SQL, Python, R, SAS) and statistical knowledge to transform data into analytical datasets and perform statistical analysis to collaborate with clinical and applied health researchers in the maternal-child field. This includes deriving complex concepts and working with many different health related datasets (e.g. Discharge Abstract Database, National Ambulatory Care Reporting System, Pharmaceutical Information Network, Laboratory, Vital Statistics) in an organized manner and with great attention to detail. The Senior Research Analyst will be expected to perform statistical analysis (descriptive statistics and more advanced analysis including inferential and predictive statistics) as well as provide interpretations and methodology recommendations while being able to present findings in various formats. The successful candidate will also assist with preparation of academic works (e.g., abstracts, presentations, manuscripts) and reports including creating tables and figures and assisting with writing and critical review for appropriate content and accuracy. Description: As a Research II, you will be responsible for coordinating research activities which generate and disseminate new knowledge that assists with advancing the understanding of health disciplines and various health and medical concerns. Working with the principal investigator, you will assist with the study design and development of research protocols, determine appropriate data collection methods and measurement procedures, interpret results, develop recommendations and coordinate study approvals. You will also contribute to grant submissions and budgeting, conduct literature reviews and environmental scans and provide day-to-day oversight of research studies/projects.

Required Qualifications: Master\'s degree in a health or science related field. Registration with applicable professional association or college where required. Additional Required Qualifications: Minimum Master\'s degree with a strong quantitative component in a related field, e.g., community health sciences, health economics, statistics, epidemiology. Minimum three years\xe2\x80\x99 related experience in a healthcare analytics environment. Must have strong SQL programming skills and experience with analytical software such as Python and SAS. Preferred Qualifications: PhD in a quantitative field. Experience working with Canadian administrative health datasets (e.g. DAD, NACRS). Familiarity with creating Tableau reports and dashboards. Experience with creating reproducible coding, e.g. macros and functions.
