The Research Grants Facilitator encourages and assists faculty members in the Faculty of Science in identifying and applying for research grant funding from all Canadian and international funding agencies such as the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC), Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI), British Columbia Knowledge Development Fund (BCKDF) and appropriate private foundations such as Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research and government programs such as Canada Research Chairs (CRC) and Killam. The Research Grants Facilitator is responsible for the development, implementation, and management of strategies and processes pertaining to FASS' research grants and facilitates the development of research grant applications by advising faculty members on best practices for the effective communication and translation of research ideas to create fundable grant applications.
Qualifications:
PhD in Science and four years of related experience in the development and writing of research papers, grants and/or contracts, and experience in financial administration and human resource management, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
