The Research Coordinator will report to the Research Administrator and will also work closely with Principal Investigator(s) on this project, Dr. Melissa Brooks, Dr. Justine Dol, and Dr. Sarah Munro.The Research Coordinator will be responsible for the overall management of the project. This will include training and oversight of research assistants at locations across the country, budget oversight, and data management. For portions of the project the Research Coordinator would also be involved in determination of subject eligibility, collection of data, quality assurance, and the organization of records.This is a 3-year, CIHR (Canadian Institutes of Health Research) funded project with an annual contract with possibility for renewal.DutiesThe primary task will be project oversight and data collection and analysis. Also, the incumbent will assist with submitting ethics applications and ongoing reports to the ethics board, auditing implementation procedures and processes, ensuring timelines are followed, liaising with study sites to align implementation strategies, creating regular reports on research progress, and leading/managing meetings and communications. They will also assist with writing manuscripts. They must communicate rapidly and effectively with the research team that includes collaborators across Canada, complete all other connected tasks as assigned by the supervisors and participate in research meetings. They will be responsible for conduct interviews and perform thematic analysis for use in the creation of an implementation map.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:1 Project Management and AdministrationAssist in gaining approvals that are necessary, particularly appropriate Research Ethics boards.
Understands the standards and procedures for research in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, the IWK Health Centre, and Dalhousie University.
Train and oversee research assistants operating in centers across Canada
Develop technical reports, presentations, and other dissemination activities.
Budget management2. Implementation Site Recruitment and SupportThe Research Coordinator must be competent in participant screening and recruitment and obtaining informed consent for research studies.Communicate effectively and interactively with participants during enrolment process and throughout the study period.
Demonstrate the ability to review and apply the eligibility criteria when screening participants for recruitment into a study.
Coordinate meetings and communication with study implementations sites
Participates and collaborates as a member of the interdisciplinary team.
Completes the necessary recruitment documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
Assesses and ensures subject\'s safety throughout participation in research studies.3. Data CollectionSchedule and carefully track research-related data collection with participants according to the timeline laid out by the research protocol.
Collects data which may include application of questionnaires and interviewing,
Enters data in the manner specified in the research protocol.
Summarizes the findings of the qualitative analysis, including actionable recommendations for future program planning and implementation.Hours of WorkMonday - Friday, 0800 - 1600Your Qualifications

  • Master\'s degree in health or related field
  • Fluency in English.
  • Must demonstrate experience in qualitative research methods and/or implementation science, particularly in a health-related area.
  • Meticulous organization skills and excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstration of research productivity.
  • Familiar with the Research Ethics Board of the IWK Health Centre, and Nova Scotia Health Authority an asset.
  • Completed the TCPS2 online course.
  • Experience in research budget management preferred.
