Position Summary:
As the Research Associate in Prof. Stagg's lab, the incumbent will contribute to cutting-edge research in cancer immunotherapy, with a focus on the preclinical evaluation of biotherapeutics. The role requires demonstrated expertise in flow cytometry, immune assays, and in vivo cancer models, supporting the development and execution of translational research projects with minimal supervision.
Contract period: 6-month contract from November 14, 2025 to May 13, 2026Designs and conducts immunology-focused research projects under the guidance of the Research Supervisor, including preclinical testing of biotherapeutics in cancer models.
Leads the development of experimental protocols involving flow cytometry, immune assays (e.g., ELISA, cytokine profiling), and tumor immunology. Oversees data collection, statistical analysis, and interpretation of immunological responses.
Innovates and validates new immunological methods and analytical techniques to enhance the sensitivity and specificity of immune response detection in cancer models.
Leads the analysis of complex immunological datasets and prepares comprehensive research reports. Communicates findings through presentations and peer-reviewed publications.
Authors theoretical and methodological papers related to immunology and cancer immunotherapy. Contributes to the scientific literature and internal documentation.
Prepares and writes grant applications focused on immuno-oncology research, including proposals for funding novel biotherapeutic strategies.
Ensures the accuracy and reproducibility of experimental results. Maintains high standards in laboratory practices and data integrity.
Supervises and mentors Research Assistants and student researchers. Provides training in immunological techniques and experimental design.
Manages project-related administrative tasks, including inventory, compliance documentation, and scheduling.
May perform tasks typically assigned to Research Assistant roles, supporting broader team efforts in translational research and therapeutic development.
Education & Experience:
Possesses advanced specialized knowledge of the field or discipline acquired through a Ph.D. in Immunology.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Expertise in flow cytometry, immune assays and preclinical testing of biotherapeutics in cancer models.Knowledge of French and English: McGill University is an English-language university where most teaching and research activities are conducted in the English language, thereby requiring English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level #4 (qualifier) on a scale of 0-4.
