Job Summary
The Research Assistant provides direct support to a Principal Investigator in the development and conduct of activities related to her research collaborations, specifically related to a CIHR funded project to understand the needs of young people accessing integrated youth services. This includes conducting a rapid evidence review on measures used integrated youth services to inform evidence based, measurement-based care, with direct support and supervision from the Research Coordinator and Principal Investigator, as well as supporting the research team with project planning (e.g., preparing interview guides, recruitment materials) and knowledge translation planning, including web-based media and reviewing research manuscripts.

Organizational Status

Reports to the supervising professor, liaises with department manager and other researchers.

Work PerformedProject planning (e.g., co-developing interview guides, recruitment materials, with the Research Coordinator) Rapid evidence review (e.g., searching for articles on research databases, screening titles and abstracts for inclusion) Knowledge translation planning (e.g., co-creating web-based media products, reviewing manuscripts) Contributing to an optimal workplace culture and environment; Performing other related duties.


Consequence of Error/Judgement
Work may involve simple tasks and methods requiring knowledge and/or procedures that are readily acquired. The nature of this work is routine and clearly defined by the Research Coordinator and Principal Investigator; all problems are referred to them.

Works under the direct direction of the Principal Investigator and Research Coordinator, with detailed oral or written instructions

Minimum Qualifications

High school graduation, some additional training in a related field and a minimum two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications* Experience and demonstrated compassion working with persons with mental illness and substance use disorders.
