Department Description:




This work is connected to the Greyeyes Indigenizing Research Lab which is focused on indigenization and its impacts on Indigenous peoples. Working under the direction of the Principal Investigator, Dr. Jarita Greyeyes you will be assisting on a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council funded project focusing on the stories of Indigenous senior academic leaders. You will work with as part of a team with other graduate and undergraduate students to advance this project including gathering and analyzing data and preparing findings for publication and presentations.

Job Summary:




Provide research support for faculty members in their teaching, research and laboratory activities. Work is performed independently, with the availability of direction and guidance from the Principal Investigator.

Accountabilities:




Adhering to established research methodology, gather and compile data for the research study or project. Modify and adapt research methods, techniques or procedures, based on deviations in experimental results. Record, classify, and summarize research data according to established procedures. Conduct structured participant interviews and focus groups. Contribute to the preparation of data for reports, journal articles, papers, etc.

Conduct literature reviews and synthesize findings. Perform other related tasks as outlined by the researcher.

Assets:




Candidates should demonstrate familiarity with Indigenous research methodologies and methods. Candidates should have an understanding of Indigenous data sovereignty. Prior experience working on qualitative research projects is an asset. Prior experience or training on the NVivo platform or similar data analysis tools and project management software is desired. Candidates must demonstrate that they have experience working in and with Indigenous communities.
