Dr. Daniel McIsaac is an anesthesiologist and researcher at The Ottawa Hospital and is a CIHR-funded investigator. His research program (Aging Innovation in Perioperative Medicine & Surgery (AIMS)) at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute looks to improve the care and outcomes of people who require major surgery with a special focus on frailty, health system performance, and patient reported outcomes. AIMS is an interdisciplinary team of motivated researchers, clinicians, patient partners, and trainees who work in a collaborative and team-based environment.
Under the supervision of Dr. Daniel McIsaac, the Clinical Research Assistant III (CRAIII) will help support the STRIVE Trial - a randomized controlled trial of virtually-supported home-based prehabilitation compared to standard of care for adults preparing for major surgery.
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Clinical Research Assistant to serve as a Prehabilitation Coach for adults preparing for surgery. The successful candidate will deliver remote, individualized prehabilitation support - including exercise, nutrition, and psychosocial coaching - to optimize patients' health before surgery. This role combines direct patient coaching with research responsibilities to support a multi-centre clinical trial.
