Research Assistant 2 position in the Electrocatalysis Lab to operate Raman, NIR, and UV-Vis electrochemical spectroscopy tools for different electrocatalysis applications.
Position Summary:Running electrochemical Raman, NIR, and UV-Vis spectroscopy systems to analyse catalysts such as Cu, Ag, Sn, and other combinations and molecular catalysts. Utilize these spectroscopic instruments to perform in-situ electrocatalytic reactions including CO2 reduction, CO reduction, aldehyde oxidation, and nitrate reduction. Design the experiments in discussion with the supervisor, analyze the results, and create high quality publishable figures, tables, with relevant discussions. Regularly report and present during the weekly group meetings. Create documents that other lab members could follow and perform the experiments in the future. Help with training other lab members to work with these instruments. Be part of the Electrocatalysis Lab and collaboratively work with all lab members.


Qualifications:Experience with Electrocatalysis, CO2 and CO reduction reaction, aldehyde oxidation, and nitrate reduction, materials synthesis and characterization. Experience in working with spectroscopic tools, preferably with Raman, NIR, and UV-Vis or similar tools. Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering or relevant discipline.

Other Qualifying Skills:Knowledge of French and English: McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level #4
