:Position Summary:The Assistant Manager of Cash Operations is responsible for ensuring company-wide compliance with all cash operations and procedures undertaken by the company. Reporting to the Pari-Mutuel Operations Manager, the Assistant Manager\'s role is to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of HEI monetary procedures, control expenditures, develop staff and standardize Money Room policy and procedures.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:Major responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Responsible for daily cash balancing of the Money Room, accuracy of cash, managing cash flows, cash controls, reconciliations
  • Ordering, receiving and dispensing money to various departments, prepare bank deposits and withdrawals
  • Daily Balance Reports, teller reports, prepares reports to necessary departments, prepare financial statements to GCGC
  • Servicing the tellers cash requests for draws and returns using pneumatic tube systems, verifies funds from non-mutuel revenue centres
  • Supervise, assist and verify counts as scheduled
  • Schedule bank pickups, calling for security escorts
  • Prepares cheques for annual processing and payment of outstanding tickets/voucher claims, signing and verifying of cheques requisitions
  • Verifies and processes and records Tab deposits and withdrawals for HPI
  • Prepare weekly scheduling and replacements, payroll timesheets and shortages, recruitments, training, handling any staffing issues, supervising money room staff, assist with Mutuels employees when needed
  • Liaise with GPEB: report counterfeit money, report large shortages
  • Submit overages to CPMA, maintain files of ticket claims, maintain BC Lottery ordering and stock products
  • Assure a safe, fair and efficient workplace environment for all employees
  • Others duties as assigned
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS & ABILITIES:
  • Minimum Grade 12
  • Excellent computer skills, proficient in Excel, data entry
  • Must be bondable, GPEB license
  • Experience handling large volumes of cash and negotiable instruments
  • Great organizational abilities, high level of accuracy, very good attention to detail
  • A strong understanding of relevant accounting procedures
  • Excellent inter-personal skills including ability to maintain confidentiality, excellent customer service skills
