Do you have a passion for continuous improvement and collaboration? As part of a multidisciplinary team of experienced professionals, the Reliability Engineer provides the technical support necessary to ensure reliable and efficient operations of our Sarnia Refinery. You will support a risk-based approach to managing reliability improvement opportunities. You will implement new technologies, recommend design or process changes, as well as influence and support Maintenance programs.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Applied Science or equivalent with an Engineering Designation
  • 7 to 10 years of related industrial or plant work experience
  • Continuous improvement mindset and experience increasing asset reliability
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills to collaborate with cross functional groups in a positive and constructive manner
  • Good knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Previous experience with GE\'s Asset Performance Management (APM) software would be considered an asset
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and steward a reliability improvement plan
  • Prioritize improvement opportunities in support of business objectives
  • Work with the Maintenance Program Planner to review and interpret equipment strategies and to validate the actions and recommendations are integrated into effective maintenance programs
  • Provide technical expertise to field maintenance personnel during repair work
  • Advise Operations and the Capital Project teams
  • Ensure reliability critical work is integrated into outage and turnaround work and support turnaround execution
  • Initiate or participate in equipment failure studies
  • Lead or participate in reliability-related formal investigations
  • Participate in risk assessments and provide input into the risk registry
  • Develop projects for a five to ten year reliability improvement plan
  • Prioritize the health and safety of employees and the environment
Location and other Key Details:
  • You will work out of our Sarnia refinery in Ontario, located at 1900 St. Clair Parkway
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs
