At HEB Manitoba, our Disability and Rehabilitation (D&R) Department takes a supportive and proactive approach to providing industry-leading service to our members.

Your exciting journey:



Within the first three months, you will:

Establish a knowledge foundation by learning about our D&R Plan, departmental procedures, and in-house computer systems. Interact with the D&R Administration team, Case Worker, Claims Specialist, and Early Intervention Coordinator functions. Develop your focus in helping members in early intervention situations or those on Long-Term Disability benefits with their rehabilitation and return to work. Use your analytical skills and compassionate attitude as you become a valued contributor in the D&R Department.
Your responsibilities will increase to:

Building trusting relationships by assisting members who are making life-changing decisions. Your work will contribute to innovative solutions that address their needs. Continuing to improve your abilities and enhance your effectiveness by developing a comprehensive understanding of our department's activities. Expanding your knowledge and skills as you gain experience developing and implementing rehabilitation programs including early intervention coordination to assist members with return to work. Becoming adept at managing your workload within a complex environment. Applying your experience to assist in the streamlining of our practices for accuracy, consistency, and efficiency. Working with the D&R Department to develop the policies and procedures that will further enhance service to our members going forward.

Qualifications for Your Success:



Experience & Education

Completion of a Nursing or Allied Health post-secondary degree is preferred. Experience in mental health, disability case management, and/or rehabilitation is preferred.
An equivalent combination of the above listed experience and/or education may be considered.*

Knowledge, Competencies & Skills

Ability to apply analytical and problem-solving skills to make sound judgements and decisions. Proficient interpersonal skills with the proven ability to develop service-focused, professional, and collaborative relationships. Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills. Proven ability to work independently, within a team environment. Capacity to balance tasks with competing priorities and varying deadlines. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Teams. Commitment to continuous learning and ongoing personal development. The Rehabilitation Specialist is required to meet with Plan members in locations across Manitoba. A valid Manitoba Class 5 Driver's License and access to a vehicle are required
