Position Summary



Northern Health is looking for an experienced, highly efficient, and self-directed temporary full time Registration Clerk to support the Patient Registration department.

In accordance with the vision and values of the organization, the Patient Registration Clerk supports the continuity of care for patients, clients, and their families by utilizing technologies to register patients across Northern Health; creating and managing client and patient data information; Discharge and Transfer and/or electronic health system applications in accordance with Registration Policies and Procedures.

Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Days, Nights, 07:00 to 19:00, 19:00 to 07:00 (Rotating)

University Hospital of Northern BC (UHNBC) is the largest acute care facility (268 beds) in Northern Health and is the hub for specialized health services. It is a full service hospital and home to a new cancer centre for Northern BC, including a wide range of cancer treatments. Provides undergraduate physician training through the Northern Medical Program, run by the University of British Columbia and University of Northern British Columbia. UHNBC is also a key clinical education site for nursing and many health sciences students at UNBC, the College of New Caledonia, BCIT and other institutions.

Qualifications



Grade 12 and two (2) years recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Skills and Abilities:
Ability to keyboard at 45 w.p.m.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to deal with others effectively.
Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
Ability to organize work.
Ability to operate related equipment.
