We are a small animal 4 doctor clinic located in Peterborough, surrounded by the beautiful cottage country that Kawartha Lakes has to offer. Our team is a group of knowledgeable and compassionate individuals who put client and patient care above all else. We are looking for a skilled individual who can adapt to the many scenarios we may encounter in a day. This position is a part time contract position covering a maternity leave until approximately September 2026.

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing high-quality care to our animal patients while supporting veterinarians in their medical procedures. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of veterinary practices and demonstrate a commitment to animal welfare.

Responsibilities

Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures Perform laboratory tests and analyze samples, including blood, urine, and tissue Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian Monitor the health and behavior of animals before, during, and after procedures Maintain accurate medical records for each patient Educate pet owners on proper care and treatment options for their animals Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the clinic environment

Experience

Previous experience as a Veterinary Technician or in a similar role is preferred Laboratory experience is highly desirable Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail A passion for animal care and welfare is essential

Pay: $23.00-$27.00 per hour
