The Hospital
Full in-house laboratory (Including PT/PTT)
In-house x-ray and ultrasound
2 exam rooms + 1 comfort room
Comfortable staff room with snacks! (because breaks are important!)
The Position
The following are the essential duties and responsibilities required for this position. The candidate must be able to perform all the following duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation:
Clinical and Technical Duties:
Treat each patient and customer with the highest level of compassion & care
Assist doctors with appointments, surgery, and client education to enable them to focus on the overall care the patient requires.
Obtain and prepare laboratory samples such as blood, urine, fecal and ear cytology, and samples for external laboratory analysis eg. histopathology, cytology, and culture and sensitivity
Restrain animals in a safe, efficient, and compassionate manner during examinations and procedures.
Blood draws, IVC placement, patient stabilization and emergency triage
Monitor anesthesia and recovery of surgery patients and communicate with owners
Instrument sterilization & wrapping
Monitor hospitalized pets and administer treatments with compassionate care.
Utilize hospital computer systems to document medical records and communicate with clients and teammates.
Tasks may involve kneeling, crawling, bending, balancing, and crouching.
The Candidate
Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)
Passed the VTNE or soon will be passing the VTNE
Exceptional client communication and education skills
Ability to stay focused and perform procedures in a fast paced setting
Flexible schedule such as weekend and holiday shifts
Advanced animal handling, restraint, surgical, and medical procedures experience
Ability to follow and demonstrate proper and safe digital radiology procedures
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs as the job requires lifting, cleaning, and constant motion
Ability to work around sick or fractious animals, zoonotic diseases, hazardous materials, and cleaning chemicals and anesthetic gas.
