Petroglyph Animal Hospital is seeking a passionate RVT to join our team in beautiful Nanaimo, BC. As a CVBC-accredited small animal hospital, we pride ourselves on our exceptional patient care and a supportive work environment.
As an RVT at Petroglyph, you will have the opportunity to work to your full potential. Our DVMs heavily rely on our RVTs for tasks such as bloodwork, prepping surgery patients, administering medications, all lab work, researching new treatments, triaging and caring for in-clinic patients. Duties
Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and procedures
Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed
Perform laboratory tests and analyze results to support diagnosis and treatment plans
Collect and process samples such as blood, urine, or tissue for testing
Maintain accurate medical records of all patient treatments and procedures
Provide patient care including feeding, bathing, and monitoring recovery
Educate pet owners on post-treatment care and preventive health measures
Maintain cleanliness of the clinic, including sterilizing equipment and treatment areas
Support inventory management by ordering supplies and ensuring proper storage
Skills
Proven laboratory experience preferred to support diagnostic testing procedures
Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members
Compassionate attitude towards animals and their owners
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Knowledge of veterinary software systems for record keeping
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with professionalism and care
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $30.00-$37.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24 - 40 per week
