Medavie Health Services is seeking a skilled, compassionate, and adaptable Registered Social Worker (RSW) to join our Mobile Mental Health Team for a temporary sick leave replacement, with the possibility of transitioning into a part-time role.
About the Program
Our Mobile Mental Health Team has been active for one year, delivering non-crisis, short-term care to individuals aged 16 and older who are transitioning between acute episodes and long-term support. Services are primarily delivered in clients' homes, with flexibility to meet in public spaces (e.g., libraries, community centers, etc) or virtually, based on client preference.
We currently serve Huron and Perth Counties, offering:

Short-term therapy and counselling.
Compassionate, timely care tailored to each client's needs
Team & Culture
You'll be joining a small, collaborative team of two RSWs, one administrative assistant, and one RN. We work closely with clients to determine the most appropriate setting and therapeutic approach, based on their preferences and existing supports.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct in-home and community-based client visits
Provide therapy and counselling using evidence-based practices
Assess mental health and risk, including suicidal, self-destructive, homicidal, and aggressive behaviors
Evaluate client conditions within environmental, familial, and social contexts
Initiate referrals and collaborate with families, professionals, and community supports
Work alongside law enforcement and paramedic services when needed
Recommend and facilitate access to appropriate resources and services
Apply knowledge of mental illness, cognitive functioning, substance use, and medical comorbidities
Understand psychotropic medications and identify when further evaluation is needed
Collect information from interviews and collateral sources
Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications
Registered and in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers
Minimum 2 years of experience in mental health or related fields
Master's degree in a relevant field is an asset
Experience working in Huron and Perth Counties is an asset
Strong clinical assessment and interpersonal skills
Flexibility and adaptability in service delivery
Valid driver's license required - a company vehicle is provided for client visits
Clear criminal record check required

This is a part-time, 6 month temporary position at 0.5 FTE (Full-Time Equivalent). Based on operational needs, there may be opportunities for additional hours, up to full-time as well as potential transition to a part-time permanent role.
