About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate, skilled
Registered Psychotherapist (RP)
or
Registered Social Worker (RSW)
to join our team!
In this role, you will provide psychotherapy and mental-health support to children, youth, and their families. Using a client-centred and strengths-based lens, you will provide individual therapy for children and parents, offer family-focused sessions, and collaborate with our interdisciplinary team to ensure each child receives holistic, coordinated care.

Duties
Conduct thorough mental-health assessments to identify strengths, needs, and appropriate treatment goals.
Provide individual and/or group psychotherapy to children and youth using evidence-based approaches (e.g., CBT, DBT-informed strategies, ACT, play-based therapy).
Individual parent-focused sessions
addressing stress, emotional regulation, parenting challenges, and skill-building.
Family-focused therapy
to strengthen communication, connection, and collaborative problem-solving within the home.
Support children with emotional regulation, anxiety, behavioural challenges, social-emotional development, and family-related concerns.
Collaborate closely with speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, communicative disorders assistants, educators, and other team members to provide integrated care.
Maintain clear, accurate, and timely clinical documentation, including assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
Communicate with caregivers using compassionate, family-centred approaches; offer guidance, coaching, and home-based strategies where appropriate.
Participate in team meetings, case discussions, and occasional program planning for Kidztales' group programs and seasonal camps.
Requirements
Master's degree in Counselling Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
Registration in good standing with
CRPO
(Registered Psychotherapist) or
OCSWSSW
(Registered Social Worker).
Experience working with children, youth, and families in a clinical, educational, or community setting.
Strong understanding of child development, family systems, anxiety management, emotional regulation, and trauma-informed care.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills with children, caregivers, and interdisciplinary colleagues.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Ability to speak another language is considered an asset.
Minimum one year of clinical experience preferred.
Position Type
Independent Contractor, with the opportunity to grow into a permanent part-time or full-time role as our team continues to expand.
