We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating and treating patients with various physical and cognitive challenges, helping them achieve optimal independence in their daily activities. This role requires a strong understanding of return to work services.
Duties
Conduct comprehensive assessments FCE/CAE.
Work with insurance companies to assist with Return to Work clients
WCB
Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's specific requirements.
Implement therapeutic interventions to improve patients' physical, emotional, and cognitive functioning.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including psychologists and social workers, to ensure coordinated patient care.
Educate patients and their families about treatment options, techniques, and home exercises.
Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress and treatment outcomes in accordance with hospital policies.
Participate in case management discussions to facilitate comprehensive care for patients.
Skills
Functional Capacity and Cognitive Ability Assessments (asset)
Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to occupational therapy practices.
Experience working with WCB and return to work clients
Excellent patient care skills with a focus on empathy and support.
Ability to effectively manage cases and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
Strong communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
