The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who is responsible and accountable for providing quality patient care within a delivery model in accordance with the philosophy, policies and standards of care of the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH), the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) and all relevant legislation. This position is in the Oncology Outpatient Clinic department within the Simcoe Muskoka Regional Cancer Program at RVH.
Education:
- Current Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current BCLS
- IV and Chemotherapy Administration Certification essential (de Souza or ONS)
- Post diploma Education, Oncology Nursing (RN) Course essential
- Post Diploma Education, Patient Assessment essential
- CNA Certification in Oncology (CONC) required within two years of hire
Experience:
- Sound knowledge of nursing process and responsibilities of profession
- CANO/ONS membership preferred
- Functions independently within scope of practice
- Two years current progressive experience in Oncology Nursing essential
- Adult Teaching Experience essential
-Concurrent Progressive Competence in Outpatient Oncology Clinics
- Central Venous Access Devise (CVAD) experience as asset
- Palliative care nursing experience an asset
- Experience in primary nursing role an asset

- Willing to work within all SMRCP departments including inpatient, outpatient clinics and on days, weekends, evenings and nights.
