Red Deer Regional Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse with the perioperative course (preferred) for their busy surgical unit. This OR Nurse role acts as a patient advocate, providing a link between the patient care unit and the Operating Room. As the Operating Room (OR) Nurse at Red Deer Regional Hospital, you are an integral part of the surgical team, responsible for providing comprehensive perioperative patient care using the nursing process in accordance with CARNA, Operating Room Nurses Association of Canada (ORNAC), and CSA standards of practice. You will deliver safe, effective and efficient care in both the scrub and circulating roles. To be successful in this position, you must collaborate within the expectations of a highly complex integrated team and be able to perform consistently in a highly organized, rapidly moving, complex and highly specialized environment. You must demonstrate advanced critical thinking, good judgment, expert problem-solving skills and exceptional communication skills. This role can be physically demanding as you may be required to stand scrubbed for many hours as well as wear a lead apron for protection.
