The RN will possess the theoretical knowledge and technical skills required to work in the peri-operative setting. The RN provides direct patient care to patients based on the three-factor framework as outlined in the College of Nurses of Ontario standard, RN and RPN Practice: The Client, Nurse and the Environment. These three factors have an impact on decision making related to care-provider assignment as well as the need for consultation and collaboration among care providers.QUALIFICIATIONSThe ideal candidate will possess the following key competencies, record of experience and academic preparation:

• Current certificate of registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Must be compliant with College of Nurses quality assurance standards
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S.)
• Current ACLS and PALS Certification
• Excellent clinical, decision making and critical thinking skills
• Excellent verbal, written, communication and organizational skills
• OR Certification
• Current OR experience
• Proficient with IV starts/phlebotomy
• Ability to adapt to change in a fast paced working environment
• Demonstrated ability to use critical thinking and problem solving skills to ensure positive patient outcomes
• Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history

• Demonstrated leadership qualities, communication skills necessary to promote positive interdisciplinary team dynamics is an asset

ASSESTS

• Bilingual - English and French
• Fluency in both English & French
• Experience in assisting with flexible scopes
• CSAO Course is an asset
• Canadian Perioperative Nursing Certification is an asset
• PACU experience

• Hourly rate of pay $39.07 - $56.00, up to an additional 14% in lieu of benefits and 6% in lieu of vacation to start.

HOURS OF WORKPermanent Part Time. Shifts include days, evenings, weekends and statutory holidays.
